چکیده

Research in the field of hybrid systems has produced a number of verification tools. Formal verification of systems is performed using such tools. In practice prototyping and simulation tools such as Matlab’s Simulink and Stateflow (MSS) are prevalent. The paper formally describes a translation process that can convert a well-defined subset of MSS into a standard form of hybrid automata. This translation process allows semantic interoperability between the industry-standard MSS tools and new verification tools developed by the research community.

Semantic Translation of Simulink/Stateflow Models to Hybrid Automata Using Graph Transformations

Embedded systems are often modeled using Matlab’s Simulink and Stateflow (MSS), to simulate plant and controller behavior but these models lack support for formal verification. On the other hand verification techniques and tools do exist for models based on the notion of Hybrid Automata (HA) but there are no tools that can convert Simulink/Stateflow models into their semantically equivalent Hyb...

Model-Based Quantitative Safety Analysis of Matlab Simulink / Stateflow Models

In this paper we report on work in progress to extend the QuantUM approach to support the quantitative property analysis of Matlab Simulink / Stateflow models. We propose a translation of Simulink / Stateflow models to CTMCs which can be analyzed using the PRISM model checker inside the QuantUM tool. We also illustrate how the information needed to perform probabilistic analysis of dependabilit...

Model-based Verification and Validation of an Autonomous Vehicle System

The software development for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), e.g., autonomous vehicles, requires both functional and non-functional quality assurance to guarantee that the CPS operates safely and effectively. EAST-ADL is a domain specific architectural language dedicated to safety-critical automotive embedded system design. We have previously modified EAST-ADL to include energy constraints and tr...

Reprint Transmission Systems Prototyping based on Stateflow/Simulink Models

In this paper we describe an efficient methodology for rapid prototyping of data transmission systems based on Stateflow/Simulink models using a multi-level system development and testing approach. Transmission systems incorporate multi-domain functions and algorithms, i.e. physical layer circuits and communication protocol controllers. The Stateflow/Simulink environment enables the development...
